Asset Status and Location Guidelines

This article explains the core rules for asset location, movement, and status changes in Asset Management.

Asset Location

Every asset must be assigned to one of the following locations:

In a roomorIssued to a staff member or student

Asset Movement

Assets can move in the following ways:

Room to room within a siteSite to site
Staff or student to roomRoom to staff or student

Asset Rules

Use the following rules to understand which actions are allowed based on an asset’s current “Status” and “Location.”

Note: Each status change depends on both the tag’s current “Status” and “Location.”
